BMW B48/B58 engine cooling radiator BAR-TEK®

The tuning potential of the 40i, 20i and 25i models is enormous. However, as soon as the boost pressure is increased, the charge air temperature also rises. On an unmodified car this still works quite well, but as soon as the boost pressure increases and more heat goes into the cooling system, it quickly reaches its limits. More heat and less performance is the result, because the B48B20 and B58B30 engines are equipped with an intercooler circuit that uses the cooling water circuit for cooling. The only way to maintain and even improve performance is to lower the temperature by improving cooling performance.

This is where our water cooler comes in. With a thick 65mm core the available space is used to the maximum. The material significantly improves heat transfer and increases the cooler volume by 100%. The special mesh allows enough air to pass through for the engine water cooler sitting behind it. The BAR-TEK® water cooler is the optimal cooling upgrade for the B48 and B58 engines.
